We strive to provide services that help people lead fulfilling and healthy lives in the community, regardless of their care needs. We have found that many seniors or people with disabilities don’t have activities that help them to socialize, exercise and gain a sense of purpose. By offering day programs that are based on clients’ abilities, we hope to contribute to their mental and physical wellness as well as their involvement with the community.
Based on a successful program from Europe, we are now offering a day program that takes people out of their home to spend a day on one of the 5 farms in the region. The purpose of the program is not paid employment, but to work on personal goals in the environment that a farm provides. For some, these goals may be simply to have fun and socialize, for others it may involve building strength and skills that may lead to employment. Yet others may use the programs as a form of respite.
We work together with many local providers and case management organization to ensure that our programs connect with existing programs of care, rehabilitation and prevention. Our programs have high standards regarding safety and compliance with the rules surrounding health care and vocational rehabilitation.
Right now, we are offering these programs in Flathead and Lake County.
