FAQs

What kind of services do you provide?

Companion care and personal care services are designed to assist in the activities that allow persons with a disability or the elderly to stay at home safely and with dignity. These tasks may include medication reminders, light housekeeping, grooming or bathing assistance, and grocery shopping.  All service care plans are developed and adjusted by our nursing care managers.

How much does it cost?

This would depend on the needs of each client. In many cases, your insurance company or Medicaid may pay for your care. Contact the location closest to you today for a FREE consultation or look at our Payment and Coverage page.

How does the cost of A-Plus HealthCare compare with assisted living or nursing home care?

The average A Plus Health Care service runs about 1/3 the cost of an Assisted Living Facility and less than 1/4 of what the skilled nursing facility would cost.

Do you actually provide services in assisted living facilities?

Yes. People sometimes discover that the assistance provided in an assisted living facility is not enough to enable them to remain independent. In these cases, A-Plus HealthCare provides staff to make this possible. Some persons supplement care by hiring private help while in an assisted living facility, nursing home, rehab center, or hospital.

What does the term “aging in place” mean?

This refers to the ability of any person to grow old in their own home or that of their family. It is the opposite of institutional residential care like a nursing home. Sometimes it may mean the ability, with extra help, to stay in an assisted living facility as well.

How quickly can services be provided?

Generally services can be provided within a 48-hour period and often the same day following our intake visit.

How are employees selected?

We carefully screen potential employees during the interview process and thoroughly investigate their reference and work history. Background checks are verified on each employee we hire. Qualifications include trustworthiness and a strong desire to help along with compassion for our clients.

Can I change the schedule if I have appointments?

Changes are easily accomplished with as little as a few days’ notice. Our philosophy is to make the schedule work for the family, not the agency. You come first; your needs, your requests, and your schedule. We will do everything possible to make sure the schedule meets your needs.

Would I always be able to get the same care staff?

We will make every attempt to schedule a regular staff. If the regular care staff is ill or cannot make it for any reason, a backup person will be provided when at all possible.

How do I start services?

Please review our locations page to contact the office nearest you. We will have our staff come to your home and conduct a free, no obligation consultation. We then identify caregivers who have the skills, personality, and availability to assist you. If you choose, we provide you the opportunity to meet the care staff, and if you approve, they begin working for you.
